Match Box Advent - step by step directions

This is the first Match box Advent Claendar I made for my nephew.
These are the match boxes that I bought. They come in packs of 10 in the picnic aisle at the grocery store. I gave the matches to a coworker, she wanted them for something.

Cut 24 strips of colored paper of choice 1 1/4" x 6".

Remove all the drawers, and cover with paper.

I start the paper on the back of the drawer and fold over and through the inside and finish on the back of the drawer.

Glue 3 boxes together, repeat until you have 8 stacks of 3 drawers. I weight them down when they were all glued, so they dry nice and tight.

I number the boxes in the order I will put them in and put X's on the sides I need to cover with paper.

Cut 8 pieces for the sides 2 1/8" x 1 3/8" . I cuttlebugged and sanded mine. Glue to the side of match boxes.

Cut small pieces of ribbon and fold in half. Then tape to the bottom of each drawer. I stamped a snowflake inside each of the drawers.

Cut 2 pieces of cardboard 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and glue together.

Cover the cardboard with paper.

Cut colored paper to 4 " x 4" to cover the bottom.

Glue paper to bottom layer to cover, I wrote who it was to and from on the bottom and the year. This side will be the very bottom.

Glue the first layer of boxes onto the bottom.

Glue the second layer on.

I like to weight it down for a while so it's nice and tightly together.

Cut 2 four inch squares from cereal boxes, glued together.

Cover the squares with paper and glue the top square design.

This is the finished product. I think I will cut out "Peace on Earth" to put on the top. Oh, and I printed the numbers 1-24 on the computer and cut them out, them glued them to the front of the drawers.
Two down and one more to go!

Trick or Treat Bucket

I used an ice cream bucket and Paper dolls for the decorations.
